Report illegal content

Anyone can tell us about content on OutPath they believe is illegal, whether or not they use the app. We handle every notice without undue delay.

In the app

If you are signed in, a photo someone else posted can be reported from the photo itself: open it, open its menu (the three dots) and choose “Report”. For a comment, a place name or a profile, or if you browse as a guest or do not use the app, write to us by email as described below.

By email, for everyone

Write to report@outpathapp.com. You do not need an account. The same address takes reports of content that breaks our terms of service without being illegal. So that we can act on your notice, please include:

  1. Why the content is illegal. Explain why you believe so, as specifically as you can: for example, which of your rights or which law it breaks.
  2. Exactly where it is. A link if you have one; otherwise the place name or where it is on the map, the author's @username, and which photo or comment you mean. A screenshot helps.
  3. Your name and email address. We reply to the address you write from.
  4. A good-faith statement. Confirm that you believe, in good faith, that the information and allegations in your notice are accurate and complete.

If your notice concerns the sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of children, including images of it, you may leave out your name, and the address you write from does not need to identify you.

Write a notice

The button opens your email app with these four points as a template. The good-faith statement is already in it, so send the notice only if that statement is true.

What happens next

  • We confirm that your notice has reached us.
  • We look at the content, decide without undue delay and tell you what we decided and how you can challenge the decision.
  • If we remove the content or restrict who can see it, we tell its author why.

In an emergency

If someone's life or safety is in danger, call the emergency number 112 first.
